Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, better called Ari Lennox, is an American artist and performer who hails from Washington, D.C., who was the first female to sign with J. Cole's Dreamville Records record label. Dreamville Records released her debut album titled Pho in the month of October 2016 where she started to gain recognition. Shea Butter Baby her debut album was released on May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox uploaded her music to the internet in 2012 when she released Five Finger Discount mixtape and Ariography EP in 2013. In 2014, Ari Lennox continued uploading her music on the internet, including her independent single Bound. In 2015, she was featured in Omen's Elephant Eyes album on Sweat it out on July 21st. J. Cole was interested in her talent and wanted to collaborate with Rihanna. On December 8, that she was signed to Dreamville Records. She made an appearance on the joint album Revenge of the Dreamers II on the track Backseat with Cozz. In October 21st, 2016 her debut EP was released titled Pho. Ari Lennox was a guest on J. Cole's Change, and she performed on the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour as opening performance. In 2018 she went on to be a guest on two of her songs along with label-mates EarthGang on Nothing but the Best and Bas on Icarus. Ari Lennox dropped her first track Whipped Cream off of Shea Butter Baby on July 16. The music video was released, followed by a music video September. On November 9 she released two more singles called 40 Shades of Choke and Grampa. Two more singles were released by her on 11/13 Pedigree and No One. Shea Butter Baby. Shea Butter Baby then made an appearance as a guest on Creed II album soundtrack alongside Cole. The singer released the track as a single to promote her debut titled Creed II on 26 February 2019. The music video premiered on February 20, 2019 to go along with the track. Within the first week, it had over 3,000,000 views. The singer was a part of 6LACK's From East Atlanta With Love Tour at the end of December 2018.
